  • Menomonee Falls, WI

Job Description

Alpha Omega Logistics, an agent office of Trinity Logistics, is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Carrier Sales Representative to expand and manage our carrier network. In this role, you will source qualified trucking capacity, negotiate rates, match carriers to available freight, and maintain strong carrier relationships that support reliable service for our customers.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced freight environment, communicates well under pressure, and is motivated by building a book of trusted carrier partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Source and onboard qualified carriers for various dry van, flatbed, and specialized freight opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong daily relationships with owner-operators, small fleets, and larger carrier partners.
  • Cover customer freight by identifying appropriate carrier capacity, negotiating competitive rates, and confirming pickup and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate carrier pricing while maintaining high service quality, meeting margin expectations, and market conditions.
  • Use load boards, carrier databases, phone outreach, and referrals to develop new carrier relationships.
  • Track loads from pickup through delivery and proactively resolve service issues, delays, detention, layovers, missed appointments, and other exceptions.
  • Work closely with customer sales representatives and operations staff to ensure freight is covered accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain complete and accurate notes, rate confirmations, carrier information, and activity records in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Monitor freight market trends, lane pricing, capacity conditions, and carrier performance.
  • Develop repeat carrier partnerships on key lanes to improve service consistency.

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, dispatch, transportation operations, or logistics is preferred but not required.
  • Strong phone-based sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and following up consistently.
  • Ability to work with urgency, prioritize competing shipments, and remain composed during service disruptions.
  • Working knowledge of truckload freight and carrier equipment types is preferred.
  • Familiarity with load boards, transportation management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with pickup numbers, appointment times, equipment requirements, rate confirmations, and compliance documents.
  • Self-motivated, coachable, competitive, and accountable for results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of carrier sales, freight brokerage, dispatch, or transportation experience.
  • Existing carrier relationships or experience developing capacity in specific regions, lanes, or equipment categories.
  • Experience using platforms such as DAT, Truckstop, McLeod, MercuryGate, Tai, AscendTMS, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of carrier onboarding, insurance requirements, safety scores, and fraud-prevention practices.
  • Experience handling high-volume spot freight or time-sensitive shipments.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary with team-based bonus structure.
  • Clear performance expectations and advancement opportunities.
  • Training, coaching, and support from experienced logistics professionals.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • IRA with company match.
  • A high-energy, team-oriented environment where performance and initiative are recognized.

If you enjoy the pace of freight, have a strong sales mindset, and take pride in finding solutions when capacity is tight, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief note describing your transportation, sales, or carrier-relations experience.
